お知らせ 2021/10/29 Novel Coronavirus Infection Control and Prevention at KAAT Kanagawa Art Theatre (Updated on October 29)

Thank you very much for your continuous supports for KAAT Kanagawa Art Theatre.

KAAT Kanagawa Art Theatre has conducted the following infection control and prevention policies.

We would like to ask for your kind understanding and cooperation.

 

(1)On Your Visit

We kindly ask that guests refrain from visiting the theatre if

- you feel unwell

- you have a fever higher than normal average temperature or above 37.5 degrees Celsius or coughs

- you have been medicated within the last 14 days for a fever and/or poor physical conditions

- you have sneezing and/or runny nose

- anyone close to you such as family members, friends, or colleagues at workplaces has had or been suspected of the novel coronavirus infection

- you have entered Japan within the last 14 days prior to the show from countries and regions listed on the Government of Japan Quarantine measure.

■ On your arrival

- There will be infrared thermography equipment installed at the theatre entrances. If there is suspicion of a fever, guests will be subject to temperature checks. For guests who have a fever of 37.5 degrees Celsius or higher, they will not be admitted into the theatre, and tickets will be refunded.

- It might take a longer time to enter the theatre due to thermographic inspection. We ask our guests to plan extra time for your arrival. We may regulate exiting guests depends on the show.

- We ask for your kind cooperation for regular sanitizing. Liquid soaps at the restrooms and hand sanitizers inside the theatre are installed.

- You will be required to wear a face mask at all times inside the theatre. Guests without a face mask will not be admitted into the theatre.

- We ask our guests to come to the theatre in clothing that would allow for their own temperature control, as the heating inside the theatre may be less effective due to increased frequency of air ventilation.

- Please bring your own drink. Vending machines are located on the 3rd floor of the theatre.

- We ask for your cooperation for maintaining a sufficient distance, at least 1m, between yourself and the other guests and for refraining from conversing, eating or drinking.

- Please refrain from eating inside the theatre (excluding drinking or restaurants).

- We ask for your cooperation for maintaining a sufficient distance when the other guests take seats on your row.

- Please refrain from conversing at all times inside the theatre for preventing the infection.

- We ask for your cooperation for flushing toilet with the lid closed.

- Allow theatre staffs to speak to a guest who seems to feel unwell during the show.

- We will humbly decline gifts, letters, or flowers for the actors.

- Please kindly refrain from greeting actors at the stage door or around the theatre.

 

(2)Infection Control and Prevention at KAAT Kanagawa Art Theatre

■ Sufficient ventilation

Theatre facilities are obligated to be fully equipped with air conditioning infrastructures by the laws and regulations and utilize air conditioning systems with opening door and windows, to absorb sufficient external air into the theatre.

We constantly monitor the carbon dioxide concentration and ventilate appropriately with an air conditioning system at the hall, the studio, the atelier and the atrium. In addition, we ventilate by opening doors and windows as appropriate.

 

Reference: The average of carbon dioxide concentration during performances at the hall with the maximum number of spectators is 749ppm (till May 2021)

*The standard value for carbon dioxide concentration targets 1,000 ppm or less in the law ensuring a sanitary environment of the buildings"

 

■ Thorough sanitizing and cleaning

We install liquid soaps in the restrooms and alcohol sanitizers inside the theatre.

We conduct intense clean of the doorknobs, the handrails, the seat armrests, which are highly exposed to the public, by disinfectant.

We set stepping disinfection mats at the theatre entrances.

We apply antiviral and antibacterial coatings to the areas and the equipment used by customers and performers.

 

■ Maintaining a sufficient distance

We set clear partitions for droplet prevention at the ticket counters and the reception.

We ask for cooperation for maintaining a sufficient distance among the guests by setting signs to draw your attentions inside the theatre. In addition, on entering and exiting, some regulations may occur to prevent congestion.

Some facilities in the lobby such as sofas, tables are temporarily removed.

 

■ Conducting temperature inspection

There will be infrared thermography equipment installed at the theatre entrances to inspect all guests’ temperature.

 

■ All staffs wearing face masks

All staffs at the theatre wear face masks while serving guests.

 

■ Care for health control of the actors and staffs

All actors and staffs are taking the utmost care for health control by frequently conducting washing and sanitizing hands and fingers, and daily temperature check.

 

■ Please kindly note that the following services will be suspended.

- Food and beverage services at the theatre buffet

- Cloakroom

- Rentals of blanket and opera glasses

- Hand dryers at the restrooms

- Watering fountains

  

(3)About KAAT Kanagawa Art Theatre

■ We collect the contact information of the guests to purchase ticket(s) on door.

We ask the guests who purchase ticket(s) on door to fill out the “Visitor Card” to contact in the case of attending a show where an infected guest is confirmed. We shall not use personal data for the other purpose.

 

We will announce any further updates on productions plans or our infection control and prevention on our home page, in the light of the novel coronavirus infection pandemic or the policies of the Government of Japan and/or Kanagawa prefecture.
